What words of advice would you have for students to connect with resources that support academic success and belonging?

"I would encourage students to do three things; take inventory, take initiative, take care. Take inventory by exploring every support office and create a checklist identifying specific academic services (such as tutoring, advising, and study opportunities) for students and when it is best to plan a conversation before major course milestones. Be sure to create a similar list for student engagement opportunities (career, student life, community service/volunteering). Next, taking initiative involves action. Utilize your checklists and schedule an appointment or follow up visit with each office. Lastly, take care. Balance how these supports and offices may assist with your well-being throughout the semester. By taking inventory, taking initiative, and taking care, you can effectively utilize the resources available to you, enhance your academic success, and ensure a well-rounded and fulfilling college experience."
