Crime statistics compiled annuallyby K-State's Office of Student Life show Kansas State University is among the safest universities in the Big 12. Kansas State Salina is safe because faculty, students, and staff approach campus safety as a shared responsibility.
Campus security is overseen by a Kansas State University Police Department Sergent. The Police Sergeant oversees the security officers and is responsible for emergency management for the campus. The Police Sergeant also is responsible for enforcing the laws of Kansas, K-State policies and procedures on property owned or leased by K-State and the streets, property and highways immediately adjacent to the campus. Any law enforcement, safety or security concerns for the campus community can be directed to the Police Sergeant. https://www.k-state.edu/police/jurisdiction/
