Machine Learning & Autonomous Systems
Machine Learning & Autonomous Systems
Machine learning is all around us. Digital assistants? Website recommendations? Self-driving vehicles? All examples of machine learning.
At the center of autonomous systems, machine learning is when an application can learn and improve from data and experience, without being programmed to do so and with minimal to no human contact. This technology is fundamental to be able to predict, plan and sense the environment.
Why our program?
As one of the few programs of its kind in the United States, you’ll gain the skills needed to immediately join a growing field. You can earn your degree on campus, online, or through a hybrid approach. Machine learning and autonomous systems have already changed the future, and will continue to change the way we live and work. They are enhancing healthcare, workplace safety, transportation, space exploration and even aspects of daily life. The rapid technological growth means there are not enough skilled employees to meet industry demands. Career opportunities in this industry are expected to grow 15% in recent years.
Program Details
The machine learning and autonomous systems bachelor’s degree is designed to provide students an advanced, in-depth and hands-on learning experience focused on the design, development and deployment of machine learning and artificial intelligence frameworks within autonomous systems. Creating autonomous systems that are cognitively enabled using modern programming languages, students learn to develop and implement machine learning algorithms into autonomous systems frameworks.
My K-State Story
"A trained workforce with autonomous systems development skills is growing at a rapid pace. The new degree option is unique within the region as well as the nation." -Dr. Michael Pritchard, Assistant Professor
