NEW for Summer 2024 - Online Provisional Classes & Exams

This option is for newly hired individuals who need this provisional certification to do testing over the summer months. Included in this option are Aggregate Field, Aggregate Lab, Hardened Concrete Properties, Nuclear Gauge and Superpave Field.

Once you register someone for the provisional online class and exam they will have immediate access to the online material and can take the exam when ready, as long as it is completed prior to September 30, 2024. The performance exam is separate and will need to be completed within the upcoming training season or within one year of taking the written exam. The performance exam must be completed at K-State Salina. Once the written and performance exams have been completed, the certification will start on the date of the written exam, not the performance exam. The written exam is administered online at the student’s location and requires a supervisor or supervisor approved proctor. This option is not available for recertification.

The fee of the provisional online class includes the cost of the written exam. The performance exam will be a separate cost. Registration starts July 1, 2024.

CIT COURSE/EXAM PERIODS

Online classes and exams are listed below with their designated course period. The beginning date is when the updated class will open for registration each year with CanvasPro access immediately following. The end date is when the online course and subsequent exam(s) need to be completed. If the written and/or performance exams are not completed by the end of the course period, it will be necessary to start over when the new course rolls out.

For the classes with a course period of October thru September there will be several in person classes offered each season**. Make sure to check when the written and performance testing and/or field days are scheduled. There are no testing days offered thru the summer months. Proctors must be registered and complete a Proctor Quiz at least 1 week before exam day. Please review the Proctoring Policy (located under Course and Exam Days - Online) and subsequent consequences for violating the policy.
