Technical Writing
Advance your writing skills and career with K-State Salina's Professional Education and Outreach course in technical writing! Technical writers create content to convey information quickly, clearly and concisely for end users to safely to complete a task such as to build or maintain a product. Technical writers play a big part in the success of a product or experience, and this program helps you master the essential writing techniques needed to excel in the field.
Program details
Technical writing will teach learners the fundamentals necessary of technical writing. This program is six 4-week modules including Standard Technical English (STE), Simplified Technical English (ASD-STE100), fundamentals of technical writing, advanced technical writing, document design, technical editing and writing for oral communication. Participants in the program must complete either the Simplified Technical English course or the Standard Technical English course first and then will be able to choose the order and pace in which they take the rest of the modules.
System requirements
The online training software operates on any Mac or PC system. Your system must have speakers with sound enabled. You will need an internet connection, broadband wired or wireless (3G or 4G/LTE) is recommended. A microphone will be needed when meeting with course instructor. A webcam is optional.
