Academic Advising
Kansas State University is committed to providing effective advising services to students as an essential component of their educational experience. Academic advisors assist students with academic planning, course selection, review of curriculum requirements, academic policies/procedures, and major exploration. Advisors can also help connect students with campus resources in support of their academic and career goals.
Each student at Kansas State University Salina Aerospace and Technology is assigned an academic advisor. Establishing a strong working relationship with your academic advisor is one of the best things you can do to promote success in your university experience and education. Students are responsible for initiating advising contact and preparing for advising sessions.

Joe Turner | jcturner@k-state.edu Joe’s family moved around in his youth due to active military service, but he’s called himself a Kansan since the age of 11. He holds a Bachelor’s of Education degree and a Master’s of Arts degree, both in English. Joe loves the hands-on qualities and real-world experiences K-State Salina offers its students and became an advisor because of his passion for promoting Kansas State University. In his free time, he enjoys cheering on K-State sports, playing music, and getting outside for any kind of activity, whether walking dogs, hiking or disc golf. |

Kebera Underwood | kebera@k-state.edu I am a first-generation college student and returned to college for my master's degree after my family was raised. I understand the complex dynamics of higher education and have a passion for guiding students through their academic journey. I've lived in North Central Kansas for most of my life. Things I enjoy about the Salina area include local events and restaurants (Hickory Hut, Seraphim Bread and Mocha's are my favorites). One of my favorite things about Kansas State Salina is the small campus atmosphere and the hands-on philosophy of learning. The campus environment provides a genuine opportunity to be involved with our students and get to know them on a personal level. |
