Kansas State University is a member of Common App. Sign in and add Kansas State University to My Colleges. The 2021 Common App will be available August 1 for students entering their senior year.

Admission requirements for incoming freshmen

New admission requirements are in the final approval stages with the Kansas Board of Regents.

Admission to the university is test-optional and requires achieving:

  • A cumulative high school GPA (weighted or unweighted) of 3.25 or higher OR
  • ACT composite score of 21, or an SAT ERW+M score of 1060 or higher

AND, if applicable, achieve a 2.0 GPA on all college credit taken in high school.

If you do not meet these assured requirements, you are still encouraged to apply. Your application will be reviewed individually.

K-State is test optional, which means admission can be granted using other academic information. However, most university scholarships and awards for freshmen require an ACT or SAT. You can submit your test scores through April 30 of your senior year.
